Description

Mental Salvo is a top-down art game set in an infinite, procedurally generated blank canvas world. It serves as an aesthetic and emotional sandbox where you can explore surreal landscapes, converse with strange entities, and search for meaning where there might be none.

The world is generated based on complex logic, meaning no two runs are the same. You will encounter opinionated cats, invisible listeners, and logic-bending cards that alter your speed or the attitudes of the world's inhabitants.

Features

  • Infinite Procedural World: A literal blank canvas that paints itself with content as you explore.
  • Mental Salvo: Explode your own head to reset the world—a core mechanic for escaping or restarting.
  • Dynamic Conversations: Talk to almost anything, from furniture to fish, and receive dynamic responses.
  • Card System: Equip cards found in the world to alter gameplay variables, spawn rates, and entity behaviors.
  • The Gun: A weapon that shoots words instead of bullets.

About imaginini

imaginini is Pawel Pachniewski's personal solo dev studio aimed at the artful exploration of game design, without a primary focus on commercial gain. It is more explorative and personal than his other studios, Frying Jelly and Figmenthol.

Some of the themes Pawel likes to explore are consciousness (as seen in the Figmental series, of which Mental Salvo is the first entry), recursion, absurdism, surrealism, time, and meaning. These themes also appear in the upcoming entry, "Fugitive Tense: A Game About Time".
